enRoute, Air Canada's award-winning in-flight magazine, has for more than a decade published an influential annual ranking of Canada's top 10 new restaurants.

In 2015, I ate my way across Canada for a third time, hitting up more than 30 new restaurant recommended by enRoute's panel of food-world insiders. My eventual Top 10 featured chef Justin Leboe's Pigeonhole, a post-fusion wine bar in Calgary, in the king's seat. The rest of the list included delicious new restaurants in Saint John, Galiano Island, Toronto, Vancouver, St. John's, Gatineau, and Winnipeg – the first time in 14 years that a restaurant from Manitoba has ranked in the Top 10.

The print feature appeared in enRoute's November 2015 issue, and in June of 2016 my writing was recognized with a Gold National Magazine Award in the category "Service: Lifestyle." Click here to read the full story online.
