My name's Andrew Braithwaite. I'm a writer. I was born in the Queen Charlotte Islands and grew up on Vancouver Island. But eventually I figured out how boats and planes and bridges work and so that was pretty much enough of all that.

I write stories about all kinds of happy subjects for magazines and newspapers in Canada and the U.S. My first book, An Inconvenient Fruit, is the true story of one winemaking family's fight against the most terrible villain that grapevines have ever encountered, a bug called phylloxera.

I live in San Francisco – technically it's a peninsula – with my wife Sarah and our two terrible cats, Neko and TK.
